Of the 852 Class 8F's built, 150 survived to 1968, the last year of steam traction on BR. They were therefore a common sight alongside diesels of both the green and blue livery periods. Despite their relatively small driving wheels these locomotives had a surprising turn of speed and were often used on passenger services. The specification of the model includes articulated coupling rods, metal handrails and is powered by a 5 pole motor housed in the loco body. Manufactured to Hornby Super Detail standard 5-pole motor located in locomotive Suitable for use on Hornby second radius curved track (438mm) or greater.
This loco is offered in the original box in as new condition it looks as though it has never been run or tested. COmes with original paperwork and unopened detail packs. Must be offered as second hand and therefore does not come with a manufacturers warranty.
